Privacy Policy

Last updated July 4, 2026

Sorta Game is created and operated by Jason Prunty, an individual doing business as “Designing Intelligence” (“we”, “us”, or “our”). This policy explains what information the game handles and how. The short version: Sorta Game has no accounts, asks for no personal information, and keeps your game history on your own device.

1. No accounts, no personal data required

You can play Sorta Game without creating an account or telling us who you are. We do not ask for your name, email address, or any other personal details, and we do not build profiles of players.

2. Game data stays on your device

Your results, scores, and streaks are stored in your browser’s local storage on your own device. They are not sent to or stored on our servers. Clearing your browser data for this site erases them — and we have no way to restore them, because we never had them.

3. Bonus-round guesses

When you type a guess for the day’s hidden theme, that text is sent to our server so it can be scored, which may involve an automated AI scoring service. The guess is processed to produce your score and is not linked to your identity. Please don’t include personal information in your guesses — they only need to describe the puzzle.

4. Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate usage of the site — things like page views and visit counts. It is designed to be privacy-friendly: it does not use cookies and does not track you across other sites.

5. Hosting and technical logs

The Service is hosted on infrastructure provided by Vercel Inc. Like virtually all web hosting, that infrastructure may briefly process technical information (such as IP addresses) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. We do not use this information to identify players.

6. Cookies

Sorta Game does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

7. Sharing

We do not sell your information. We share data only with the service providers needed to run the game (hosting, analytics, and AI scoring, as described above), and only for that purpose, or where required by law.

8. Children

The Service does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because there are no accounts and no personal data collection, there is nothing for a parent to request deletion of — game history lives only in the browser it was played in.

9. Your choices

Since your game data lives in your browser, you control it directly: clearing this site’s data in your browser settings removes your history and stats.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
