How to Play
Sorta Game is a free daily puzzle. Each day brings one puzzle: three quick rounds of ordering, then a final twist. The whole thing takes about three minutes, and there’s no account or sign-up — just play.
The three rounds
Every round gives you five things and a scaleto sort them by — for example, “order these from oldest to newest” or “from smallest to largest.” Tap or drag the items into the order you think is right, from one end of the scale to the other.
When you lock in your order, the round reveals the correct sequence. You score one point for every item you placed in its exact spot — up to five points a round. Close counts for nothing here; it has to be in the right place.
The hidden theme
Here’s the twist. The three rounds aren’t random — a single hidden theme runs through all of them, connecting every item you just sorted. After the third round, you get one guess: describe the thread that ties the whole puzzle together, in your own words.
There’s no multiple choice — you type what you see. Your guess is scored on how well it captures the intended theme, worth up to five points. The scale in each round is handed to you; the theme is the part you have to find.
Scoring
- Three rounds × 5 points = up to 15 points for your ordering.
- The hidden theme guess = up to 5 points.
- 20 points is a perfect day.
One puzzle a day
There’s a single puzzle each day, the same one for everyone, and a new one rolls over at midnight (US Eastern). When you finish, you get a spoiler-free result grid you can share — see how your ordering and your theme guess stack up against your friends’.
